PETALING JAYA: Missing five-year-old Sharlinie Mohd Nashar is asthmatic and needs her medication whenever she starts wheezing.

"Whoever took our little girl, please return her to us because she is asthmatic.

"Every time she starts wheezing and has difficulty breathing, she'll need her medication. Even eating ice-cream can cause her to start wheezing," her father, wireman Mohd Nashar Mat Hussain, 29, said after a press conference here yesterday.

The press conference was jointly held by Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil and Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan at the Petaling Jaya district police station.

Sharlinie's parents Mohd Nashar and Suraya Ahmad, 28, turned up for the press conference with their two older daughters Nurul Amirah, 11, and Sharliena, eight.

Other relatives, including Sharlinie's maternal grandmother Samsiah Mohd Yusof, 48, were also present.

Asked to describe her youngest child, Suraya said that 'Nini' was an active and cheerful girl, despite her illness.

"She's had asthma since she was born. Please don't hurt my little girl.

"She's so young, she's only turning five on Jan 30. She doesn't know anything," Mohd Nashar said.

At 11am on Wednesday, Sharlinie and her sister Sharliena had gone to a playground about 200m from their double-storey link house in Taman Medan to play before she went missing.

"I was washing the dishes in the kitchen.

"She didn't tell anyone that she was going to the playground, she just went with her sister," Suraya said, adding that Nini would not follow strangers.

Wiping her tears, she pleaded to her daughter's abductor: "Please give us back our daughter. Please don't hurt her."
