Comedian, 5 friends held over ganja offence

All six persons tested positive for drugs. -NST

PETALING JAYA, MALAYSIA: A popular comedian-cum-actor is in police custody after they found him in possession of ganja on Saturday night. The comedian was with five friends, who were also detained, when police raided his home.

They all tested positive for drugs.

Selangor Narcotics Department chief Assistant Commissioner Nordin Kadir said police raided the comedian's house in Bandar Sunway here at 10pm after receiving a tip-off.

The comedian, 41, was hanging out with his friends, aged between 22 and 28, when police knocked on his door.

Police found 35g of ganja in the house. The six have been remanded until Wednesday.

The comedian has acted in more than 50 comedies, some of which were box-office hits, since 1998.
