KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA: The gangland-style execution of a nightclub proprietor and his female companion at a condominium in Cheras last week is believed to have been masterminded by persons known to the victims.
Cheras deputy police chief Supt Abdul Rahim Hamzah Othman said this was because the killings seemed to have been planned.
"From the beginning, police did not rule out revenge as the motive for the murders," he said after attending the closing of a training programme for volunteer police constables at Alam Damai police station, here, yesterday.
On Friday, K.C. Wong, 52, and his 32-year-old companion were gunned down with an automatic pistol at the car park of their condominium in Taman Maluri, Cheras, at 3.30am.
Based on their wounds, police believe they were shot at close range. Police found 13 spent bullets at the scene.
Rahim said police had recorded statements from several witnesses, including security guards at the condominium and close relatives.
"The identities of the suspects have yet to be ascertained. However, we are gathering information, including studying the footage of a closed-circuit television camera in the condominium compound."
