JOHOR BARU - It does not make sense for DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang to even think that they can take over Johor, said former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad besides urging Johoreans to ensure that he does not win.

Dr Mahathir, who did not mince his words, described the news of Lim contesting in Gelang Patah as "ridiculous".

"We have to make sure that Lim does not win.

"He has been around for too long and keeps on shouting for change but he is the one that needs to be changed," said Dr Mahathir to the cheers of the thousands of people who attended a talk at the Permai Kempas PPR here on Sunday night.

Dr Mahathir said Lim had been in politics since 1964 and should retire to give way to his son.

"Actually, maybe he should even give way to his grandchildren because he is that old," he joked.
