A 25-YEAR-OLD cyclist has been in a coma after he collided into a side mirror of a lorry on Sunday afternoon.

The incident took place at about 5pm that day as both bicycle and lorry were travelling along Sungei Kadut Drive towards Choa Chu Kang Way.

As a result of the collision, the cyclist - a China national who works here as a carpenter - suffered serious head injuries. He was conscious when he was taken to the National University Hospital, but later lapsed into a coma.

The lorry driver, a Singaporean in his mid-40s, was unhurt and is helping the police with investigations.
