THE former head of AEM-Evertech Holdings was fined rather than jailed for corruption yesterday after disclosing bribes to companies, including Seagate Technology.
Ang Seng Thor's whistle-blowing led to the full discovery of wrongdoings that were difficult to uncover and prosecute, a district court heard.
Ang was fined a total of $200,000 on two corruption charges and barred five years from being a company director.
AEM-Evertech was renamed AEM Holdings in May 2007.
