MALAYSIA - A FATHER died minutes before the graduation ceremony of his son at the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) 41st convocation recently.

Former Pos Malaysia Berhad deputy director Abdullah Halos, 55, from Taman Perling, Johor Baru, collapsed about 1pm as he was walking with his wife and three children towards the graduation hall after parking his vehicle about 400 metres away.

He was rushed to the UTM clinic nearby but doctors confirmed he had died.

His son, Mohd Fairul Abdullah, 23, was waiting for his turn to receive his Bachelors Degree in Geomatic Engineering, scheduled for 1.30pm, when he received the news. He skipped the ceremony.
