Travel concession for students not applicable beyond eligibility period
TransitLink works closely with the school administration on the duration of the concession eligibility and collection process of the cards. -ST
I REFER to last Thursday's Forum Online letter by Mr Goh Choh Tong, 'Singaporean student at private school yet to receive TransitLink concession card'. The School Concession Scheme is a travel concession scheme granted by the public transport operators and administered by TransitLink. In making this concession scheme available to students, TransitLink works closely with the school administration on the duration of the concession eligibility and collection process of the cards. This is regardless of whether it is a private school or a mainstream local school. As the travel concession was implemented with the objective of helping eligible students defray the cost of daily travel to and from school, it is not applicable beyond the duration of the concession eligibility as stipulated by the school. We thank Mr Goh for his feedback and the opportunity for TransitLink to clarify this issue. Corrine Ng (Ms) |
