A WOMAN watched as her husband caned her 10-year-old son 100 times to punish him for lying.

The 39-year-old woman, who cannot be named to protect the boy's identity, admitted to permitting her husband, 39, to ill-treat his step-son at their home on Sept 15, 2007.

The husband has since served nine months' jail for caning the child about 100 times on the buttocks, arms and back. He pleaded guilty last November (2008).
