Finalists thrown into deep end

School teams competing to produce the best student publication had to swim with sharks. -ST

THE top 10 teams gunning to produce the best student publication in 24 hours were thrown into the deep end on Wednesday - they had to swim with sharks.

That, in addition to writing a personality profile of Nominated Member of Parliament and champion swimmer Joscelin Yeo, attending a press conference with health officials on the H1N1 flu virus, and polling young people on their gaming habits.

The list of assignments to fill four pages of a tabloid newspaper intimidated at least one student, Chee Shu Jia, 15, of Cedar Girls' Secondary School.
