An illegal gaming centre, camouflaged as an Internet cafe at the Berjaya Times Square shopping complex, was raided by police here on Saturday.

A team from the city's vice, gambling and secret societies division led by Chief Inspector Azlihan Ishak raided three shoplots located on the sixth floor of the shopping complex.

Police arrested a worker and 17 patrons who were busy placing their bets. Police seized 21 machines.
