MANILA, Philippines - Seven people were injured early Saturday in an apparent grenade attack on a store in the central Philippines, police said.

The blast shattered glass panels at the hardware shop and a nearby clinic in Iloilo City, while shrapnel wounded seven men across the street from the store, a police report said.

Witnesses saw an unidentified suspect riding away on a motorcycle after tossing a grenade, said the report by Iloilo city police chief Senior Superintendent Melvin Mongcal.

None of the injuries were said to be life-threatening.

No group has claimed responsibility and the motive was unknown, he added.
