Cinema still: Greedy Ghost.

This is local funnyman Mark Lee's first attempt as an executive producer and to his credit, his new horror flick is entertaining.

Taiwanese comedian Kang Kang plays Lim, a loser who meets a Book Spirit which gives him winning lottery numbers and financial advice. Lim agrees to pay any price for the riches.

Meanwhile, his friends Huat (Brendan Yuen), Hui (Henry Thia) and Xiaoqian (Jesseca Liu) are haunted by a powerful spirit after Huat steals from the latter's grave.

The Boris Boo-directed film has enough scares, but not so much that it'll deter the faint-hearted.

The ending is a surprise, but still pleasing.
