Man charged with embezzling $100k from TV host's restaurant

An ex-manager of MediaCorp artiste Pornsak Prajakwit's Thai restaurant was charged today with embezzling $100,000 from his employer.
Lianhe Wanbao reported that 39-year-old Xie Tian Fu allegedly stole 19 cheques from the restaurant between June 21 and July 5 this year. He is also alleged to have forged signatures on the cheques,
He cashed in a total of $104,000.
Xie was charged with 19 counts of theft and cheating.
According to the Chinese daily, he was also accused of stealing $842 from the restaurant in the early hours of July 7 this year.
Thai-Chinese Pornsak Prajakwit opened a total of four restaurants, named Porn's, in Singapore.
Three are currently operating while the fourth is under renovation in preparation for its opening.
The naming of Pornsak's restaurants caused a stir due to its controversial meaning but he told the media that "porn" means happiness in the Thai language.
