Mr Chan Chun Sing, Acting Minister for Social and Family Development, is the new chairman of the People's Action Party's (PAP) youth wing.
He takes over from Minister of State for Trade and Industry Teo Ser Luck, a statement from the PAP said on Friday.
Both he and Mr Teo have also been appointed organising secretaries for the party's Central Executive Committee, as have Health Minister Gan Kim Yong and Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen.
Four more party members have also been co-opted into the party's CEC, bringing the total number to 18.
They are Minister of State for Social and Family Development Halimah Yaacob, Acting Minister for Culture, Community and Youth Lawrence Wong, and backbenchers Denise Phua and Seah Kian Peng.
The committee's office bearers remained the same. Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong continues as secretary-general, with deputy prime ministers Teo Chee Hean and Tharman Shanmugaratnam as the first and second assistant secretary-generals. National Development Minister Khaw Boon Wan remains CEC chairman.
The CEC is the party's highest decision-making body, and is voted in every two years at a conference by nearly 2,000 cadres. They had been selected from a shortlist of 19.
The party held its conference and CEC election last week, (Dec2) the first since six old guard ministers, including Mr Lee Kuan Yew and Mr Goh Chok Tong, stepped down after the May 2011 General Election.
They elected 12 members and co-opted two others - Mr Tan Chuan-Jin and Dr Vivian Balakrishnan - for receiving the 13th- and 14th-highest number of votes.
