CHANGI Airport Terminal 2 now has a new lounge, for travellers to enjoy their favourite documentaries and catch up on the latest in sports and news.

The 270-sq-m facility in the departure area has 14 high-definition large screens, one of which is a 103-inch Panasonic plasma screen - the largest in the market.

The lounge - the newest of several at the airport - can accommodate about 90 people and features a bar as well as a digital gaming zone.

There is also what the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) calls a 'Virtual Book' - a touch-screen plasma which allows passengers to 'turn the page' to read about the history and significance of popular sporting events like the Olympics and Wimbledon.

CAAS director-general and chief executive officer Lim Kim Choon who officially opened the Hi-D Lounge on Friday, said Changi offers its customers an 'exciting, vibrant and enjoyable' experience.

He said: 'CAAS constantly reviews and upgrades facilities to enable passengers to enjoy a welcome respite from the stress of travelling.'
