With a toss of a football, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong launched the finals for a street football competition on Sunday at Toa Payoh Hub.
More than 600 people took part in the National Street Football League - Lee Hsien Loong Challenge Trophy, organised by grassroots members of Sengkang West and Ang Mo Kio GRC. PM Lee is an MP for Ang Mo Kio GRC.
The competition, which has no age restrictions, this year saw its oldest participant in its 19-year-history: Madam Maimon Abdul Wahab, 57.
Her team, Happy Feet, finished fourth in the women's division and netted $250. Madam Maimon, an avid footballer, said: "Age doesn't matter to me. I can feel young just by playing."
