SINGAPORE- A shop selling pineapple bak kwa (barbecued pork) is drawing long snaking queues as Chinese New Year approaches.

Kim Peng Hiang, which is a lesser-known name compared to the likes of Bee Cheng Hiang and Lim Chee Guan, is believed to be the only shop that sells the unique pineapple bak kwa.

Every Chinese New Year, people from all over Singapore make the trip out to the shop on Changi Road near Kembangan MRT station. So hot is the Chinese New Year delicacy that customers are limited to 500g or 1kg of pineapple bak kwa each, depending on how much is available. It sells for $45 per kg.

The first day of Chinese New Year this year falls on Feb 19.
