DiCaprio wins best actor in a drama Golden Globe for 'The Revenant'

Leonardo DiCaprio won the Golden Globe for best actor in a drama on Sunday for his role in the survival thriller "The Revenant," fueling buzz that he could finally take home his first Oscar next month.

DiCaprio bested rivals Bryan Cranston ("Trumbo"), Michael Fassbender ("Steve Jobs"), Eddie Redmayne ("The Danish Girl") and Will Smith ("Concussion").

Brie Larson wins best actress in a drama Golden Globe for 'Room'

Brie Larson won the Golden Globe for best actress in a drama for the film "Room," in which she portrays a mother in captivity with her young son. Larson bested Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara, both nominated for "Carol," Saoirse Ronan for "Brooklyn," and Alicia Vikander for "The Danish Girl."

Jennifer Lawrence wins Golden Globe for best comedy film actress

Jennifer Lawrence took home the Golden Globe for best actress in a comedy or musical film on Sunday for "Joy."

Lawrence beat Melissa McCarthy ("Spy"), Amy Schumer ("Trainwreck"), Maggie Smith ("The Lady in the Van") and Lily Tomlin ("Grandma").

Matt Damon wins Globe for best actor in comedy for 'The Martian' 

The Oscar-winning actor, who played an astronaut stranded on Mars in the blockbuster film, bested Christian Bale and Steve Carell from "The Big Short", Al Pacino for "Danny Collins" and Mark Ruffalo for "Infinitely Polar Bear."

Stallone wins Globe for best supporting actor in 'Creed'

Sylvester Stallone won a Golden Globe on Sunday for best supporting actor for his turn in the critically acclaimed movie "Creed," reprising his iconic role of boxer Rocky Balboa.

The 69-year-old Stallone - whose Balboa returns to the ring to train the son of his late friend and onetime rival - bested Paul Dano ("Love & Mercy"), Idris Elba ("Beasts of No Nation"), Mark Rylance ("Bridge of Spies") and Michael Shannon ("99 Homes").

"I'm going to try not to get emotional, because I am the sum total of everyone I've ever met and I'm lucky to absorb some of it," Stallone told the star-studded event, before thanking his wife and three daughters for their support.

"I want to thank my imaginary friend, Rocky Balboa, for being the best friend I ever had," he added.

"Creed" is the seventh installment in the boxing film franchise.

Winslet wins best supporting Globe for 'Steve Jobs'

The Oscar-winning actress and previous Globe winner played the role of a close aide to Jobs, the Apple co-founder who died in October 2011.

Winslet bested rivals Jane Fonda ("Youth"), Jennifer Jason Leigh ("The Hateful Eight"), Helen Mirren ("Trumbo") and Alicia Vikander ("Ex Machina").

The Martian' wins Golden Globe for best comedy film

"The Martian," a movie about an astronaut stranded on Mars, won the Golden Globe on Sunday for best motion picture, comedy or musical.

The blockbuster starring Matt Damon, who also won the award for best actor in a comedy, bested "The Big Short," "Joy," "Spy" and "Trainwreck."\

Inarritu wins best director Golden Globe for 'The Revenant'

Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu won the Golden Globe for best director on Sunday for his work on "The Revenant," the epic survival thriller starring Leonardo DiCaprio.

Inarritu bested Todd Haynes ("Carol"), Tom McCarthy ("Spotlight"), George Miller ("Mad Max: Fury Road") and Ridley Scott ("The Martian").

'Mr. Robot' wins Golden Globe for best TV drama series

"Mr. Robot" won the Golden Globe award on Sunday for the best television drama series. The USA cable network drama about a cybersecurity expert with social anxiety beat favorites including HBO's medieval fantasy series "Game of Thrones" and hip-hop music show"Empire."
