Australian pop punk rock band 5 Seconds of Summer's concert in London came to a fiery end when guitarist Michael Clifford's hair caught fire and his face was burned by stage pyrotechnics.

The 19-year-old guitarist, who is known for having bright dyed locks, managed to escape serious injury during the band's gig at Wembley Arena on Saturday night, reported UK's Daily Mirror.

The group was reportedly performing its hit song "She Looks So Perfect" during its second night in London when Clifford's hair caught fire, reported MTV.

Video footage taken by fans and posted online shows the star walking into a pyrotechnic that caused his hair to go up in smoke within seconds.

He was seen rushing to the side of the stage and grabbing a towel before racing off, after which the band had to cut their concert short, reported CNN.

In other video footage, his band mate Ashton Irwin was captured breaking the news to worried fans: "Michael has hurt himself so we will not be continuing the show right now. He is okay."

The #GetWellSoonMichael hashtag was a trending topic on Twitter on Saturday and Clifford posted a photo of himself with his face covered in bandages. He wrote: "Sorry I couldn't finish the encore, but at least I look like (Batman villain) two face..."

Clifford later posted: "Hello world. I'm doing ok :) Thanks for worrying!"

The pop star also asked fans not to take his pictures for now.
