Taiwanese actor Kai Ko , who tested positive for marijuana, has been released after being detained for 14 days in Beijing, China, major Chinese dailies reported.
According to Guang Ming Daily, Ko, who was accompanied by his parents and manager, apologised to the public and vowed that he would not repeat his mistake at a press conference in Beijing on Friday.
Upon his return to Taiwan on Saturday, Ko again apologised to the public during a press conference that attracted over 100 media practitioners.
When asked about his friend Hong Kong film star Jaycee Chan who was detained together with him, Ko said Jaycee was a good person and they would continue to be friends.
Jaycee, who is the son of Hong Kong superstar Jackie Chan, was still being detained in Beijing after he also tested positive for marijuana.
