Actor Tim Robbins back in jail - to help rehabilitate inmates

SINGAPORE - After voluntarily spending time in solitary confinement in jail to prepare for his role in the 1994 movie The Shawshank Redemption (above), Tim Robbins, 54, is back behind bars.

But this time, to teach. The US actor will be working with the Actor's Gang, a group he founded in 1981 and funds, to teach "the art of acting" to prison inmates as a way to help rehabilitate them. The convicts he'll be working with are serving time for crimes ranging from drugs possession to murder.

Robbins told CBS: "It creates this place, particularly important in prison, where people can step outside of what's expected of them."
