Asian, Hollywood stars shine at Chinese entertainment awards

Fresh off her win at the TVB Anniversary Awards last month, actress Charmaine Sheh has picked up yet another accolade after she was named Best Chinese Actress in a TV Series at the 15th Huading Awards held yesterday.

The entertainment awards was held at The Venetian in Macau, reported Sina News.

The Huading awards are "China's leading entertainment awards show recognizing the year's achievements in film, television, dance, theater and music", as described on the CriEnglish website. Winners, which include both Chinese and global stars, are determined by fan votes.

According to Yahoo, Sheh's "Line Walker" co-star Raymond Lam also picked up the award for Best Chinese Actor in a TV Series, while Donnie Yen and Huang Shengyi picked up the Best Chinese Actor and Best Chinese Actress awards.

Hollywood stars were also honoured at the ceremony, with Blackhat director Michael Mann and star Chris Hemsworth taking the Global Best Director and Actor gongs. Birdman actress Naomi Watts was named Global Best Actress.

Another Blackhat actor and Mandopop superstar Wang Leehom took home the Global Best Singer-Actor award, while K-pop band Super Junior was named Global Best Group, Yahoo reported.
