In the competitive realm of K-pop mania, it pays to be intelligent.
Don't let the rules limit you.
Outplay and outsmart them all.
This was the strategy deployed by Singaporean Running Man fan Ooi Wantsin, who overcame the odds and scored an autograph from her favourite cast member, Gary.
Four thousand fans thronged Jurong Point on Saturday, but only the first 400 Category 1 ticket holders received passes to the exclusive Running Man autograph session held just outside the Boon Lay MRT station.
Each Category 1 ticket cost $248.
The five cast members from Korea's hottest variety show, brought here by channel ONE, an Asian entertainment channel showcasing the latest Korean programmes, were Jee Seok Jin, HaHa, Kim Jong Kook, Song Ji Hyo and Gary.
A fan could only receive one autograph from a randomly selected cast member.
So how did Miss Ooi, 28, a human resource executive, increase her odds of getting her favourite cast member's scrawl from 20 to 100 per cent?
The process went like this: The 400 fans were tagged with bands of different colours - white, orange, red, yellow and blue - when they joined the queue.
