Don't confuse Peters' Quicksilver with Aaron Johnson's Quicksilver in the upcoming Avengers: Age Of Ultron.
According to Marvel Comics lore, Quicksilver is Magneto's son named Pietro Maximoff and the twin brother of Wanda Maximoff (aka Scarlet Witch). They are two of the earliest members of the Avengers.
Peters' Quicksilver's short segment has caused so much buzz that Hugh Jackman, who plays Wolverine, feels Quicksilver deserves his own spin-off.
While it's still early days, it has been confirmed by X-Men writer/producer Simon Kinberg that Quicksilver will "absolutely be back for (the next instalment) X-Men: Apocalypse", scheduled for 2016.
To capture Quicksilver's speed, singer-photography director Newton Thomas Sigel used high-speed phantom cameras and photo-sonic technology to shoot the prison break scene at 3,600 frames per second (fps), as opposed to the industry standard 24 fps.
Peters got engaged to US actress Emma Roberts, 22, in January this year. They hooked up while filming Adult World in 2012. Last year, Roberts was arrested for domestic violence against Peters. The couple subsequently released a joint statement, calling it "an unfortunate incident and misunderstanding".

Director Bryan Singer is one such fan and picked the 27-year-old to play mutant speed demon Quicksilver X-Men: Days Of Future Past, currently showing here.
Starring opposite his movie heroes was "intimidating", Peters told The Hollywood Reporter.
"I grew up watching all the X-Men films, and then there's Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in front of me. I was really nervous."
