1. Everybody Loves Darcy
She created quirky sidekick Darcy Lewis, who turned out to be a fan favourite instead of leading lady Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) in Thor and its sequel, Thor: The Dark World.
Dennings said about her intern scientist character: "I love Darcy. She was born out of my imagination because she's not in the comic books. So the fact that people like her is really flattering."
2. Child Star
She started working at the age of 10 in commercials, and at 14, she scored a plum role in an episode of TV series Sex And The City. That kickstarted her showbiz career, which saw her appearing in TV series such as Without A Trace, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and ER.
3. Indie Princess
Dennings chose to take the film festival route, particularly after her star-making flick Nick And Norah's Infinite Playlist. After filming Thor: The Dark World, she returned to her indie roots in supernatural comedy Suburban Gothic.
4. Comic Relief
She has her own successful sitcom 2 Broke Girls, now into its third season.
Dennings was given the liberty to improvise on Thor: The Dark World. "So much of the film gets dark and emotional, and the lightness is extremely important," she said.
5. Private Person
She has never been a paparazzi target because she's "not an interesting person", she told Toronto Sun.
"I just want to do my work and go home. It's pretty easy to avoid the paparazzi if you don't want it. Just don't walk around Beverly Hills in massive sunglasses."
