First Singapore Rock Festival to be held in March

Six hard rock bands will be performing in Singapore for two nights for the inaugural Singapore Rock Festival at Fort Canning Park on March 5 and 6.

Headlining the concert on day one will be American musician Rob Zombie and award-winning nu metal band Korn, who will be joined by hard rock bands Five Finger Death Punch and Black Veil Brides. Rock juggernauts Alter Bridge will be headlining the second night with Newsted, a heavy metal band led by former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted.

This is the first time Zombie, whose real name is Robert Cummings, will be performing here and will also be the Grammy-nominated rock icon's final stop on the current leg of his concert tour. The 48-year-old is known for founding the metal band White Zombie in the 1980s and for directing horror movie Halloween II.
