Fit for a king

"The suit is a modern gentleman's armour."
That quote from Colin Firth's character in Kingsman: The Secret Service couldn't be more tailor-made for director Matthew Vaughn's latest spy caper.
Currently showing here, Vaughn's stylish film stars Firth and newcomer Taron Egerton and is about a group of exceedingly dapper British secret agents who use a Savile Row tailor shop as a front.
Besides focusing on a group of recruits training to become top-notch spies, it also pays much attention to their personal grooming.
So it's no surprise that the 43-year-old British film-maker teamed up with his Kingsman costume designer Arianne Phillips and luxury e-tailer Mr Porter to create a bespoke collection crafted in Britain by heritage manufacturers such as Bremont (timepieces), Mackintosh (outerwear), Turnbull & Asser (shirting), Drake's (ties and pocket squares) and George Cleverley (footwear).
The 60-piece collection includes upscale men's suits, watches, ties, umbrellas and briefcases and is available for sale on Mr Porter (www.mrporter.com), the menswear counterpart of upscale e-tailer Net-a-Porter (www.net-a-porter.com).
It even made a splash at London Fashion Week last month as part of the Mr Porter Autumn/Winter 2015 collection during London Collections: Men, the four-day showcase of men's fashion.
Be prepared, though - becoming a Kingsman will cost you. The double-breasted suit Firth wears in the film is £1,333 (S$2,792). Here are other dandy creations from the movie...
