Londoners Paul and Rob Forkan, then 15 and 17 respectively, were in the fishing town of Weligama, Sri Lanka, with their family when the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami hit the coastal town.

While they made it to safety, they never saw their parents again.

Rather than being crushed by the tragedy, the brothers decided to do something to continue their parents' philanthropy.

In 2011, after completing school, they launched their own footwear brand, Gandys, which funds their initiative, Orphans for Orphans. Orphan for Orphans works to build children's homes around the world.
