French director Tavernier honoured at Venice

French director Bertrand Tavernier was honoured at the Venice Film Festival on Tuesday, receiving a Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement Award.

Tavernier had two films run competition at Venice, the world's oldest film festival -- "Round Midnight" in 1986 and "L. 627" in 1992.
