Australian actor Hugh Jackman picked up the Golden Icon lifetime achievement at the Zurich International Film Festival at a gala held in his honour last Saturday - and showed off his language skills in the process.
The 44-year-old said in heavily-accented German: "I am honoured to receive this honour and to present my new film Prisoners."
He then continued his thank-you speech in English, saying that he owed "literally everything" to Switzerland as his parents met there while on vacation at a Swiss resort.
He recalled: "I came on a pilgrimage here when I was 18... wandering the streets and sleeping at the railway station. That bum you saw and kicked? That was me."
