Indian movie features iconic S'pore locations, but says it's Sydney

A netizen was flabbergasted when he noticed something bizarre in an Indian movie shown on Vasantham channel on Aug 31.

The movie, Sagar, was shot in various popular locations in Singapore and even featured iconic buildings such as the ArtScience Museum and Ngee Ann Civic Plaza, but yet the movie claimed the characters were in Sydney, Australia.

According to Stomp, the netizen said that the movie was shot in 2012 and centres around a male character who returns to India after staying in Sydney.

"There were scenes showing the hero, heroine and friends dancing at various locations in Singapore such as Marina Bay Sands, Singapore Flyer and Raffles Place and were portrayed as Sydney, Australia.

"The song sequence looks hilarious and stupid especially since the Sydney's Opera House was superimposed onto our Arts Science Museum and the Helix Bridge in the song.

"The hero and heroine were definitely not in Sydney, and videos of Australia were obtained from elsewhere and merged with the actual footage of Singapore.

"Even Changi Airport Terminal 2 and a plane of Qantas was shown in the movie to show that the hero hails from Australia!

"It is the most absurd thing that could happen."
