PETALING JAYA - Fans of Ke$ha have been supportive of the international pop star despite her cancelled performance, which was to be held at Stadium Negara last Saturday.
Head of PR for Livescape Jason Kong, which had organised the concert, said the sentiment among fans surrounding news of the authorities' decision to ban the 26-year-old performer's concert had been positive.
"The fans have been really fantastic. They've been sending messages of love and support to Ke$ha, assuring her that they still love her.
Ke$ha has also acknowledged and thanked them for their kind messages," he said.
The singer said on Twitter, "I love my Malaysian animals so so much. xx I tried animals." The post has since been re-tweeted over 2,000 times.
Kong said the fans were more disappointed than angry over the cancellation.
"But they understand that things like that do happen," he added.
He also said Livescape and the Foreign Artists' Film Screening and Performance central agency (Puspal), an agency under the Communications and Multimedia Ministry, had not met after the incident.
