Drummer Matt Helders told LOUD earlier in July that his band's new album has a "70s rock feel and riffs".
This is the very first thing that will strike you when you listen to AM, Arctic Monkeys' fifth album.
From the opening track Do I Wanna Know? to others like One For The Road, I Want It All and the depressing No. 1 Party Anthem, the band sound like they're stuck in time.
But the good part is that the album still makes for a delightful listen, made even better by frontman Alex Turner's drawly vocals.
It's a welcome change from their more upbeat earlier works, and an indication of maturity for this decade-old band.
I dare say it's one of their best albums yet.
