GEORGE TOWN - Datin Susan Lovie Boudville, the wife of late Alleycats singer Datuk Loganathan Arumugam, is on life support due to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Boudville, 58, is in an induced coma at the Penang Hospital after she fainted on Feb 14.

She was diagnosed with COPD, which is a type of obstructive lung disease, about four years ago.

According to Boudville's daughter Dasha Logan, 26, her mother was rushed to hospital after she fainted on the evening of Feb 14.

"She was taking a shower and fainted when she came out. My brother and my mum's friend were around when it happened," she said yesterday.

She added that her mother's relatives were coming from Sabah and Australia after being informed.

Boudville's close friend Mary Carlos-Westwood, 55, said she was deeply saddened.

"She is such a kind and caring lady and never hesitated to help a person in need," she said, adding that she became close to Boudville in 1999.

She also said that Boudville had been living with her in her Permai Ria apartment in Tanjung Bungah since September 2012 after Boudville's house in Jalan Azyze was gutted in a fire.

"She stayed with us until Jan 31 when her son moved her out to an apartment in Mar Vista," she added.

Boudville met Loganathan when he was working in Kuala Lumpur.

Loganathan, or Loga as he was fondly called, died of lung cancer in 2007 after an eight-month battle with the disease.

Together with his brother Datuk David Arumugam, the siblings formed the Alleycats in 1969 and entertained fans all over the region for 30 years.
