Minions through time

Minions through time

THE BEGINNING

The minions start off as single cell organisms and have an innate need to follow a master. As they evolve over time, they model themselves after an array of prehistoric fishes, always striving to follow the biggest and baddest boss out there.

JURASSIC ERA

As they evolve further and fishes begin to surface on land, the minions follow suit. This time, their boss of choice is the ferocious Tyrannosaurus Rex.

THE FIRST MAN

The minions soon find themselves under the command of the first man - a caveman, to be precise. They learn to create their own weapons to hunt and even make a special one for their lord.

FRENCH REVOLUTION

It's time for war, as the minions follow their new leader, Napoleon Bonaparte of France, into combat. One of the minions even gets to give the cannon firing command!

TRANSYLVANIAN AGE

Finally, the minion's new master is as immortal and imperishable as they are, or so they think. When celebrating his 357th birthday, they plan hard and even decide to bake a nice cake for their nocturnal master, Count Dracula.

EGYPTIAN ERA

The minions then find refuge under the watchful eye of an Egyptian pharaoh. They learn to plan and build complex machines and architecture.

'ICE AGE'

After the demise of every ruler they encounter, the minions decide to colonise a desolate ice cave. But without directions from a higher-up, they soon lose their sense of purpose, until the trio of Kevin, Stuart and Bob set out on a journey to find a new master. The rest of the bunch chance upon an Abominable Snowman and, you guessed it, made him their boss.

VILLAIN-CON

At Villain-Con, a convention for villains, Kevin, Stuart and Bob are employed by Scarlet Overkill (voiced by Sandra Bullock), the most nefarious baddie of them all. They go to London to steal the crown from the Queen of England to prove their loyalty.

HOME AT LAST

After the demise and betrayals of various masters, the minions finally find their true home and purpose working for supervillain Gru (voiced by Steve Carell), who treats them with respect and actually knows each of them by name.
