The assassination of US President John F. Kennedy remains a very controversial subject.
To this day, no one can agree on what happened. Was it lone gunman Lee Harvey Oswald? Was there a conspiracy?
Parkland isn't interested in all this. It basically just takes the official account - a single shooter - at face value and then goes on to show us the nuts and bolts of what happened in the immediate aftermath.
Most of the action takes place around the Parkland Memorial Hospital, where doctors try to save both Kennedy and Oswald (shortly after the assassination of Kennedy, Oswald himself was also murdered).
The flick's a bit interesting in how it compares and contrasts the deaths of both men.
Zac Efron plays a young doc, and Paul Giamatti is Abraham Zapruder, the guy behind the famous Zapruder film that captured the assassination.
