Movie picks: Tom Yum Goong 2

Fans of Thai action superstar Tony Jaa love his films for the sole fact that he never fails to take us on a ride filled with real fists, elbows, flying kicks and daredevil stunts.

So while the plot of this follow-up to the 2005 original is nothing to shout about - an influential owner of an elephant camp is murdered and all evidence points to Kham (Jaa) as the killer - who cares?

It is delightful to see our favourite muay thai maverick back on the big screen since 2010's Ong Bak 3, doing what he does best.

Looks like his stint as a monk has re-energised him.

It's quite ludicrous to see him getting pummelled by mob leader LC, played by US rapper RZA of Wu-Tang Clan.

No disrespect to RZA, but come on, how is that possible?
