One Direction arrive at Madame Tussauds Singapore

SINGAPORE - Hundreds of One Direction fans got to spend time with their idols - Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Zayn Malik - last night (July 9).

They were at Madame Tussauds Singapore to see the five wax figures of the boy band.

An exclusive One Direction preview event took place at the attraction at 7pm on Thursday and die hard fans had the opportunity to get up close and interact with the figures.

The event saw hundreds of fans, some as young as eight years old, queuing up from 4.30pm.

The One Direction figures will be in Madame Tussauds Singapore from July 10 until early Oct 2015. The figures will travel across Madame Tussauds' 19 locations around the world.

The Madame Tussauds studio team in London spent 15 months producing the life-like figures. Each of the band members had a three-hour sitting with the team and over 250 measurements were taken of each of them.

Craig Connor, General Manager of Madame Tussauds Singapore, said: "We are hugely excited to have (One Direction) arrive at Madame Tussauds Singapore. We had hundreds of fans turn up last night for our preview event - this was a unique opportunity for them to get up close and interact with their favourite stars and see all five band members back together again."
