Although rumours about the wedding started circulating a few months ago, it became stronger following a post in the social media about a meeting on Thursday supposedly to discuss preparations for the royal wedding, expected to be in October.

Cik Khaleeda who is in her early 20s is said to have accompanied Tunku Ismail, 30, on several official functions attended by the Sultan and his consort Raja Zarith Sofiah Sultan Idris Shah.
