KUALA LUMPUR - Theatre fans will get a glimpse into the life of the legendary Tan Sri P. Ramlee when the musical about him is staged in Kuching next month.
The award-winning P. Ramlee The Musical, in its fourth run, will be held in conjunction with Sarawak's 50th Independence Day celebration.
Specially commissioned by the government of Sarawak, this tribute to the multi-talented entertainer will run for five days.
The celebration will kick off with two performances on Sept 9 and 10, followed by a P. Ramlee tribute concert by Indonesia's violin maestro Idris Sardi on Sept 12 and 13.
The musical is organised by Enfiniti Events Sdn Bhd, the events arm of Datin Seri Tiara Jacquelina's Enfiniti Vision Media.
The staging of the show in Kuching will feature a new cast line-up, including Tony Eusoff as P. Ramlee, Nadia Aqilah Baiduri as first wife Junaidah and Elly Mazlein as third wife Saloma.
Tiara will be making an appearance as Norizan, P. Ramlee's second wife.
"I am most intrigued by this lady. She's a very strong character and nothing like the other characters that I've played before," said Tiara of Norizan.
