Hong Kong - Hong Kong director Oxide Pang on Monday reportedly flew to Malaysia to save his marriage as photos of him kissing a young model triggered calls for his actress wife Lee Sinje to divorce him.

Apple Daily said he phoned Lee, his Malaysian- born wife of four years, after it spilled the news of him with Liddy Li, 26, last Friday.

He also phoned producer Alvin Lam of Universe Entertainment who said he "was wrong" and urged him to fly to Lee to seek forgiveness.

Apple yesterday said Pang, 48, and Li were not simply caught locking lips at a Hong Kong mall.

At the magazine rack of a convenience store, Li was also seen showing Pang a magazine featuring Lee on the cover. "The guilt-stricken Pang grabbed it from her and pushed it back on the rack," said Apple. They then went to an apartment, it added.

The two reportedly hit it off after Pang helped Li get a starring role in Four Nots, a horror movie he is not involved in. He was seen visiting the set, and was in a party shot posted by Li on Weibo on her birthday last November.

On Monday, fans were urging Lee, 38, to leave the Hong Kong-based Pang since they have no children. They wed in 2010 and she lives in Malaysia caring for Pang's daughter from his first marriage, Apple said.
