KUALA LUMPUR - Pop queen Datuk Siti Nurhaliza entertained her delighted fans at her solo Konsert Lentera Timur series at Panggung Sari, Istana Budaya in Kuala Lumpur.
The three-night concert series which kicked off on Friday, featuring Siti performed beautiful with traditional compositions, accompanied by the Malaysian Traditional Orchestra (OTM).
The concert series is her first ever (concert) featuring Siti belting out only traditional songs.
Packed to the brim, this is the second time Siti perform at Istana Budaya.
Previously she performed at the venue four years ago to a sold-out Satu concert series in July 2009.
Throughout two hours duration, Siti showcased her vocal prowess in singing songs of diverse traditional elements such as joget, inang, zapin, keroncong, masri and also dikir barat and makyong.
Songs such as Bunga Melor, Patah Hati, Janji, Kau Pergi Tanpa Pesan and Hati Kama were some of the songs performed to the delighted fans.
The two-hour concert was produced by Istana Budaya and Siti Nurhaliza Productions (SNP) Sdn Bhd.
Two leading musical directors - Aubrey Suwito and Mohd Yazid Zakaria from OTM - were also at hand to help ensure the concert was a success.
Lentera Timur (Lantern of the East) is also the title of Siti's traditional album, which was released in 2008.
Apart from Lentera Timur, in her 18 years in the music industry, Siti also released three other traditional albums such as Cindai, Sahmura and Sanggar Mustika.
