If you are planning to attend Spring Wave Festival Singapore this year, make sure you scream Yao Yao's name as loudly as you can.
The angelic-faced Taiwanese bombshell might just suddenly run down the stage to give you one of her famous hugs.
"It has happened before, in fact, several times," said the 23-year-old singer-actress with a laugh, during a roundtable interview with local reporters yesterday.
"I'm the sort who easily feeds off energy from the audience. So the more wild and passionate they are, the more likely I'd do something spontaneous.
"I might walk into the crowd or invite fans on stage."
Yao Yao, whose real name is Guo Shuyao, is best known for her voluptuous 32E chest.
In November 2009, while in town to promote her debut album Love's Embrace, she made headlines by giving 300 fans who had bought her album a hug each.
This time, Yao Yao returns to our shores with Chinese singer Della Ding, 31, and Taiwanese-Korean rookie singer Bii, 24.
They are here to promote the Spring Wave Festival, Taiwan's iconic annual outdoor music fiesta that brings together some of the biggest names in Mandopop.
In June, the festival will return for a second year in Singapore with a line-up that includes powerhouse diva A-mei and raspy-voiced rocker Jam Hsiao.
Sexy on a hot day
So, is Yao Yao, who yesterday was dressed in a rather conservative light blue sundress, concerned that her penchant for spontaneous hugging might invite unwanted attention?
She shook her head.
"From my past experiences, usually, those fans who are very loud and enthusiastic turn out to be timid and shy when I'm about to hug them. Their bravado is simply a front," she said.
In any case, Yao Yao has of late shown herself to be more than a sexpot with assets.
