Producer gets to divorce abusive 'dream girl'

INDIA - Malaysia Nanban reported that the Karnataka High Court passed an order dissolving the marriage of a film producer, citing that there was sufficient evidence he had suffered at the hands of his wife, who was once his "dream girl".

Judge L. Manjunath said that the wife's demand for a separate house, a Rs 20lakh (RM106,000, S$4,079) lump sum, a Rs 20,000 (RM1,060, S$408) monthly allowance, among others, constituted unreasonable behaviour.

The judge made this observation before ordering the dissolution of the marriage conducted in Mysore in March 2006.

The producer even claimed that his wife had asked him to undergo an HIV test and other medical tests.
