Running Man cast likes Singapore's food and greenery

SINGAPORE - There's something about the chilli crab dish that's making K-pop stars go crazy over it here in Singapore.

Running Man's HaHa (Ha Dong Hoon) is the latest star to proclaim his love for the local dish during a media conference on Friday, joining the likes of Girl's Generation Tiffany and Big Bang's Taeyang.

As for Gary (Kang Hee Gun), the host/rapper has eaten his way around Singapore, posting pictures on social media of him at the popular Rochor bean curd store and a restaurant with a gorgeous view of Marina Bay Sands.

That sort of explains the 3kg he said he gained during the trip, even though it was only his second day in Singapore.

HaHa, Gary and three of their Running Man team members - Kim Jong Kook, Jee Seok Jin, Song Ji Hyo - are in Singapore as part of their promotional tour organised by Watson's and Channel One.

Seok Jin, however, said he likes the clean air in Singapore and Jong Kook was impressed by the trees. Even though it's the latter's third time here, he's still amazed by the big trees and "green streets".

This being her first time in Singapore and joining the Running Man promotional tour, pretty Ji Hyo, was probably getting most of the cameramen's attention.

As the only female member of the cast, she seemed to enjoy letting the guys do the talking.

But she is not just here to be eye candy.

When asked about being the only woman in the team, Ji Hyo said that she always feels like part of the Running Man family, prompting Jong Kook to jokingly say she is "stronger than the guys, sometimes".

Their friendly banter was no different from what fans are used to seeing on screen.

Like all Running Man fans, I hope they will film an episode (or two) in Singapore soon.

Seok Jin suggested filming at the Singapore Flyer, but I have suggestions for them.

A chilli crab eating competition (I'm still a little sceptical about K-pop artists devouring the spicy dish and would like to see it on TV), and a "Count the number of trees in Gardens By The Bay" mission.
