Among the house's occupants is a black creature with really long fingers that has a penchant for bathtubs and soaking in red liquid. Crimson Peak opens here on Oct 15.

The latest trailer for Guillermo del Toro's new film, Crimson Peak, delivers the promise of really bad things to come, especially for Mia Wasikowska's character Edith Cushing.

Edith is an aspiring author who has just suffered a family tragedy. At this vulnerable moment, she meets Thomas Sharpe (Tom Hiddleston). He woos her, marries her and takes her to his ominous-looking house, which has many levels, long corridors and noisy plumbing.

Those are not even the creepiest things about the place. That honour goes to its occupants: Thomas' eccentric sister (Jessica Chastain), and a black creature with really long fingers that has a penchant for bathtubs and soaking in red liquid. The official synopsis describes the old house as one "that breathes, bleeds…remembers".

To that, we can only say: "Eeek!"

Crimson Peak is slated to open in Singapore on Oct 15.
