Shu Qi's marriage a prediction by White Dragon King?

Shu Qi's marriage a prediction by White Dragon King?

A mere coincidence or a prophecy that came true?

After making headlines with the surprise announcement of their sudden marriage last weekend, actress Shu Qi, 40, and actor-director Stephen Fung, 42, have created more buzz when it was revealed that her love destiny was actually foretold by her spiritual master.

Shu Qi, a fervent follower of famous Thai medium White Dragon King, was reportedly told by the latter before he died that she would find true love naturally within three years without having to make any special effort.

Self-styled seer Chow Yamnam, who renamed himself White Dragon King (more popularly known as Bai Long Wang) after experiencing mystical experiences, died on Aug 17, 2013.

Shu Qi was among the famous Hong Kong stars who attended his funeral on Sep 1 that year.

A source, who is familiar with her yearly visits to his temple near Pattaya, told Taiwan's King's Weekly magazine about the mystic giving love advice to the award-winning actress.

For years, she didn't manage to find that special someone to walk down the aisle with despite reports of romantic links with a string of dashing stars like Leon Lai, Chang Chen, Shawn Yue and Wang Leehom.

Then out of the blue last Saturday, Shu Qi and Fung announced that they had tied the knot two days earlier on Sep 1, which happened to be the anniversary of White Dragon King's funeral.

It was so coincidental, said the source, who suggested that the actress could have chosen the date as a way to express her thanks to him for his advice and blessings.

The couple got hitched officially in Prague, where Fung was directing her in The Adventurers, a movie also starring Jean Reno and Andy Lau.

Penned by Fung, the press statement of the newlyweds said: "We've known each other for 20 years and been in love for four years. I've married her unreservedly. Yes, we've decided to be entangled with each other for life."

She chanted sutras regularly and had a bountiful collection of prayer beads given by friends, reported SPH website Omy.

There was a period when she would keep a copy of a sutra in her handbag as if it was her constant companion.

Now that she has found true love, she probably has Fung to lean on for most things.
