Singapore stars shine at Asian Television Awards

SINGAPORE - It was a good night for Singaporean stars at the 19th annual Asian Television (ATV) Awards.

The region's most prestigious entertainment awards was held on Thursday night (Dec 11) at Marina Bay Sands, reported The New Paper.

Comedienne Irene Ang got the evening started on a good note by winning the Best Comedy Performance By An Actor/Actress for her role in "Spouse for House".

Channel Newsasia reported that other local winners included Pierre Png for Best Actor In A Leading Role and Rayson Tan for Best Actor In A Supporting Role.

Before the awards, the red carpet saw stars like Allan Wu, Nadya Hutagulung, Taufik Batisah, Pierre Png, Rebecca Lim, Belinda Lee, Selena Li, Alaric Tay and Sora Ma decked out in their elegant and classy best.

According to The New Paper, while Singapore took the loudest cheer with wins in numerous categories, other countries like Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Australia also had cause for celebration that evening.
