Never been kissed by an idol before?
At the What A Wonderful World Sam Hui 2014 Concert at the Singapore Indoor Stadium last Saturday, some lucky fans got a loud smooch from the Father of Cantopop as he sang and weaved his way through the crowd. But none of the kisses were as passionate as the one he planted on a fan's lips at a concert in Macau last year that was blasted by netizens as "inappropriate behaviour".
The 65-year-old Hui looked super trim in his trademark leopard-themed costumes. His voice was in fine shape as he serenaded the 5,000-strong audience with close to 40 tunes. Sharing the stage were his sons Ryan, 37, and Scott, 35, and protege Justin Lim, as well as a new singer - Scott's wife Ida, 34.
Hui did a memorial segment for his late fellow singers such as Leslie Cheung, Anita Mui and Roman Tam. He also sang Joyous Land, a Cantopop version of Louis Armstrong's What A Wonderful World, before closing the almost three-hour show with his mega hit, From The Heart Of A Loafer.
Hui's tour will move on to Sydney and Melbourne.
